The audience at the international assistive technology trade fair SightCity voted the Feelware Audio retrofit the public's favourite at SightCity 2024. The retrofittable voice output for household appliances can also help you to dry your laundry independently.

With the Feelware audio voice output for retrofitting, many tumble dryers can be equipped with voice announcements to make them barrier-free to operate. The current programme is announced as soon as it is selected with the programme selection knob. Additional information about the current programme can be heard by tapping the rotary knob. This provides you with the most important information about the functions of your appliance during operation. Furthermore, additional tactile symbols for display buttons and switches provide reliable assistance during operation. Tedious memorisation of device functions and setting options is no longer necessary. Instead, you can operate your device safely, conveniently and easily.

Intuitive operation through voice prompts

Operation is via a rotary knob to select the programmes and via touch buttons on the display of the respective washing appliance. The intelligent Feelware Audio rotary knob is attached to the rotary knob of the tumble dryer to record the settings of the appliance. The announcements for the different programmes are emitted via a separate loudspeaker and contain information on the different programmes as well as instructions on how to use the touch buttons on the display. The touch buttons are marked with the help of very small stencils. Equipping the washing machine with the Feelware Audio System makes it so easy to operate that you can take care of your laundry on your own.

Can your device be converted?

The Feelware Audio retrofit can be adapted to many different dryers. In order to determine whether your washing machine can be retrofitted, we need four photos of the machine:

1. Control panel with all buttons, switches and knobs from the front panel

2. Control knob and surrounding labelling from the frontal view

3. Control knob from the side view

4. Type plate of the unit, so that we can read the manufacturer and type number.

What is the procedure when I order the Feelware audio retrofit?

If your device can be retrofitted, you can order the voice output for your device immediately. Many people in Germany can also apply for Feelware Audio retrofitting as a benefit from a funding organisation, e.g. health insurance or care insurance. We will be happy to advise you on this in a personal consultation.

Because the voice output is customised for your household appliance, we will need a few weeks to produce the voice output for you. As soon as the system is ready, it will be delivered to you.

When the Feelware audio retrofit arrives, it is simply attached to the controls of your household appliance. The AudioBox is then connected to a socket in the same room and your appliance is ready to speak. A sighted person can easily complete the installation within 10 minutes. No special skills are required and the installation is described in detail in the instructions supplied. You can also find a video on our blog in which we explain the installation.

If you do not have anyone in your environment who can help you with the installation, we will support you in installing the voice output. On request, we offer instruction in use and operation. Services are subject to a surcharge.

The Feelware audio retrofit is a customised product that is manufactured according to your specifications. The delivery time for a customised product can be up to 10 weeks. Custom-made products are excluded from the right of cancellation.
